PTFE bonded EPDM Gasket

PTFE-EPDM Composite Gaskets are engineered with high-quality EPDM rubber and PTFE, delivering exceptional chemical and corrosion resistance.

Featuring dual concentric convex sealing rings, these gaskets ensure reliable sealing even at low bolt loads. The unique inner PTFE ring provides an added safety barrier against leakage of both gases and liquids.

Ideal for use with fiberglass, glass-lined, and steel full-face flanges, these gaskets help prevent flange cracking, reduce installation costs, and maintain high-performance sealing in corrosive environments.

Description

A full-face PTFE-bonded EPDM gasket is a gasket in which a layer of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is laminated or bonded onto an EPDM (ethylene-propylene diene rubber) core, and the overall gasket is fabricated to cover the entire face of the flange (i.e., full-face style). The EPDM rubber provides the compressibility and sealing resilience, while the PTFE provides the chemical resistance at the sealing faces.

Key Features & Benefits
  • Excellent Chemical Resistance: The PTFE layer provides superior resistance to acids, bases, solvents, and aggressive chemicals.
  • Low Bolt-Torque Sealing: The bonded laminate construction with raised sealing rings ensures effective sealing at significantly lower flange bolt loads compared to flat rubber gaskets.
  • Resilience & Recovery: The EPDM core offers strong compression recovery, accommodating flange surface variations and maintaining seal integrity under thermal or pressure fluctuations.
  • Wide Temperature Range: Suitable for continuous use from –30 °C (–22 °F) to +150 °C (+302 °F), depending on grade.
  • Full-Face Design: Distributes load evenly across the flange, protecting fragile materials (e.g., glass-lined or FRP flanges) from cracking and bolt-load concentration.
  • Concentric Sealing Rings: Molded convex rings around bolt holes enhance sealing performance at low torque for both gas and liquid applications.
  • Bonded Construction: PTFE is permanently laminated or vulcanized to the EPDM core, forming a durable composite structure that will not delaminate in service.

We can make the full-face PTFE-bonded EPDM gasket according to ASME (ANSI) B16.5,  EN1514-1.
