“Molded” rubber sheets are elastomeric sheet materials produced by molding processes. The “molding” process means the uncured (raw) rubber compound is placed into a mold cavity and then vulcanized under heat/pressure so the sheet comes out with the desired thickness, dimension, shape, and often reinforcement or bonded layers.
In practice, molded rubber sheets are particularly suited when thicker gauges, special compounding, reinforcements (fabric, metal bonding), or heavy-duty applications are required — often more specialized than standard extruded/calendered sheet rubber.
